Outgoing mail

Here is a first day cover. I used a cut file from the Silhoette Cameo and used the pen tool instead of the knife. I then colored in the images and added some patriotic stickers.
Casablanca...need I say more?
I added Wink of Stella to The drawing I did in honor of a great musician. A little stardust!!!

Pop up 50th Birthday for an Irish friend

This was made for my friend's birthday! She loved it!
I got the cut files from the Silhouette store. I really love pop up cards!
They are so fun to make, and people really get a big kick out of them.

Illustrator Year of the Monkey

Here are my new ACE member covers. There are three new members this month.
I did this in Illustrator as well. I put the stamp over Arnold's body, his sword from Conan
is in the books. I added the pendant and text to say welcome. The ace 540 is rubber stamped.
I used the Nevada stamp, because I thought the color went well.

Here is a mail art piece I created in Illustrator. I used the Zodiac font I downloaded
from my Silhouette Cameo. I drew the monkey face, added some highlights. I hope
the recipients enjoy this little New Year wish.
Here is my mailbox!

Camera Enthusiast Mail Art

This mail piece is an old photo envelope from the 1950s. Inside are some die-cut film negatives, an old tin photo, and a letter. I wrapped the photo envelope in glassine, then stamped some relevant images to this piece and group. The stamp is George Eastman.
The stamp over the address is for the receivers privacy. I hope the recipient enjoys this piece.

Happy New Year, have a Blessed 2016.

Getting into Mail Art

I am on a Mail Art adventure. I started in August and have quite the pile of very exciting and entertaining mail. What I like most about it, is that I get a reply and wonderful complements to my work, plus I get a piece of someone's art back. Right now, being new, I get about 40-50 pieces a month.

I get everything from poems, little books people make, cards, and just wonderful letters.

It is such a fun hobby. I joined a group called ACE. The Art Cover Exchange. I have a lot to learn about mail art, but everyone is very kind and not judgmental. Some people may find offense that my stamp doesn't go with the color palette of my cover, or isn't relevant. Those people may just not enjoy life....period. Some collectors are stuck on personal sized envelopes, and will toss anything outside the size, unless of course it is very well executed.

I know Christmas is 13 Fridays away...but I make all of my Christmas cards, paper goods, and a few of my gifts. I have to start early!

Here are some tags I made for an exchange I am in.

I used a quickutz die and ribbon, class a peels sticker, and fun fibers.
