The Beating...darkside challenge birds

Here's my entry for Junes Darkside challenge "BIRDS". This was my first attempt at an altered book page. And an old poem from the tomes.
The Beating
Even sunflowers were ashamed
They hung their heavy heads
as children cowered near
Watched her pack and leave
They hung their heavy heads
neighbors at the fence
watched her pack and leave
gossip whispered in the wind
Neighbors at the fence
they saw the sheriff go
gossip whispered in the wind
the willow shook its head
they saw the sheriff go
watched her limp away
The willow shook its head
Even sunflowers were ashamed
