First successful try at Photoshop! UGG!!! I need a nap now!

This is my first ever creation with Photo Shop and my new MAC.  This image was provided by Art Creations Friday.  This was really hard for me, so please, don't think I didn't try hard with the image given.  I added a layer of text, and changed the picture into a sketch with the brush tool.  I was just excited to give it a try.  If anyone knows of a how to book on Photoshop Elements or similar, could you leave me a comment and let me know???  Pretty Please, and thank you, with sugar, and a cherry on top???  Someday I hope to be as great as some of the Digital artist I envy.

  2. That's beautiful! I don't know about Photo Shop as I use Paint Shop Pro but I'm doing an online course which is fantastic and you could do a search for a course for Photo Shop or why not look on Amazon - they have reviews on the books there and that might help.

  5. You are doing great! Hang in there! I am using Photoshop Elements 6 and one of my preferred books for this program is Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 (A visual introduction to digital photography) by Philip Andrews. This book has a cdrom included with several tutorials. Check out his website as well - www.guide2elements.com
That being said, nothing compares with a few hands on lessons. I was lucky as my daughter is quite a little wizard with Photoshop and she spent several hours explaining the layers concept. Understanding layers opens up a world of possibilites. I am still a beginner but I have really enjoyed the progress I have made in a few short months and the creative outlet this program has given me. You will too!

  6. Lovely piece,, Kristen. I have Photoshop Elements but it is a very old version. You did great. Each new one that you do, you'll learn something more. Such fun. I'm so glad you jumped on the bandwagon.

  7. This is fantastic, your first try can't be perfect the fact that you tried, is great, I've heard it is rather hard, so keep plugging away, and we will keep being amazed, because I think the picture is great.
