For the A Muse Studio challenge, this week the challenge is to stamp on something other than paper. I stamped on my ribbon. These are not A Muse stamps this time. I thought this cow was fun!

I am working on filling a box for Operation Write Home, so I am whipping out some cards. They are in need of restocking their stashes. I also have tried to enlist people to write me some Any Hero letters.

Hopefully I get a couple to send in the box with my cards. I never thought to stamp on ribbon, until I saw this challenge. It is fun to step outside the box!

Friday Fill Ins!

1. When I looked out the window this morning _it wasn't snowing... YET!
2. Algebra doesn't make sense to me.
3. Remind me to pick up flour next time I do the grocery shopping.
4. Being creative is something I love to do!
5. TP is an important part of the bathroom, and I spare no expense on mine.
6. I cleaned the refrigerator recently and I found that is was an easy task, because I clean it often.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to eating homemade soup and enjoying a bottle of wine, tomorrow my plans include some brochure creation, and creating a couple of business cards and Sunday, I want to have a rest day, maybe even an electronic free day!

Beach Babes from Artistic Impressions made this card. I love these "new to me" images. I just found them the other day and also bought one with a hot mama on a moped! The inside of this card says, "Happy 29th birthday from your 110 pound friend." I know just who is going to be getting this card at the end of the month too. Check out this new line of stamps, the images are fun and the sentiments are hilarious.

Doodles on cards

I love to doodle. This card was made by first stamping the sentiment (this one is from Unity Stamps). It actually says "sun-Shine in every cup" but I changed cup into day with a pen, and drew over in every. I used a brown and a black Sharpie fine tip marker to doodle on patterned paper. I then colored with Copic markers to add some color shading and interest.

I am using quotes, and then adding illustrations to go with them to make my own Valentine Cards. If you want to grab this for your own use, go ahead. I have been printing him on card stock and folding the card in half to make a cute little message of love.

I am making a rug out of fleece. My bathroom is orange on white. I thought this would be a fun craft. Just use the rug base shown... I also use this for locker hooking... and it is the same product used for latch hooks. The piece I bought for $15.00 (less if you have a coupon) will make 4 rugs. I am using super discounted fleece. This rug will be about 2x3 feet and will cost about $10.00 when it is finished. All you need to do is tie 5-6 inch lengths that are cut about 3/4" wide. Just one knot is all that is needed. I am folding over the edge as I go and knotting around the fold so there aren't any loose ends. It feels good, and you can do it every row for a super full rug, or ever other row for a less full rug. It is easy and it is something kids could do with you. This is a good TV time project. I will show it again when it is finished!

Happy New Year

What is going on today? I hope you are doing some relaxing, or much deserved creating! I am doing some great New Years tasks, one is getting things in order (not too hard for me because I do this all the time). I am organizing my cards by reason and season. I just used a basket that some wines and cheeses came in. Recycling Craft Room Style! Also, go and check out the post at the Order of the Opus Gluei. We are starting a new year with getting on with the new and out with the old. There are some really awesome projects over there!

Here is a card I made. I have a friend who is ill right now, and it has brought my creativity to a Spiritual level. I want to be inspirational, uplifting, and joyful to those around me this year. I hope that I can keep it going all year, even when she gets recovery.

Here is the view from my art table. I am looking at the very first snowflakes of the season. It hasn't snowed yet here in the NW Burbs of Chi-town. Little flakes are collecting along the edge of the grass.

The sentiments on these cards are from Our Daily Bread

I wrapped all the top layers in onion skin. The top layers are hand drawn and water colored dresses and bibs. Then brads or ribbons were attached.

I stamped the faith sentiments on top of the onion skin with StazOn

Then shared the photos with you!

I used the polygonal selection tool in photoshop, then blurred the background. These cards look real vintage, and are really fun.

Doing some sketching. The sketch book I have right now has little prompts that get your creative juices a little jump start. I am also going to go back and get out my CAFFEINE FOR THE CREATIVE MIND book and do some of those super fun lessons.

Here is a friendly little octopus. I may make him into a digital image for cards. Not sure yet... He could hold a sign that is blank for "viewers like you" to stamp your own sentiment on. What do you think?

Here is another piece of what I have been doing with myself. This is the last project for the semester! It is finished! I am so happy, I swear this was the longest semester that I have ever had. I have 1 more semester to go, and graduate 20 May 2012! Whewwww! What a long strange trip it has been.

I drew the fish in Illustrator. The bubbles are pre-fab in Illustrator. The font is Bubblegum and I reduced the letters to 75% besides the initial letter to make it more readable. I also drew the water in Illustrator. I used InDesign for the layout.

Here is a creation anyway, late... but better than never? It is hard to go to school and blog.. that is all I can say! I really miss getting out and saying hey to my crafty friends.

A Climb Fueled by Quisp an Autobiographical Essay

The minute I open my eyes in the morning my brain starts its hundred mile an hour surge to plan the day’s events. I love getting up and getting going. The sooner I can get out of the house the better. If I get noticed doing nothing I might have to do something as terrible as dusting, and I do not want to do any dusting. No thank you, I would rather not. Today’s plan is tackling the elm tree.

My first stop, breakfast, and not the one of champions. I hate those whole wheat, tasteless flakes. I need sugar and lots of it. Quisp, that is my favorite. It has a little alien on the box. He is floating around with a bowl of popped corn goodness. It is, of course, covered in sugar. I need to let it get a little soggy, because otherwise it will cut the roof of my mouth.

My mother sets my bowl out every night to keep me and my feet off her kitchen counters. It is purple and ceramic. My dad has a yellow one just like it, I don’t know where these bowls came from, but they are not part of a set. My brother calls them the Jethro bowls, because they can each hold about 3 cups of sugared bliss covered in vitamin D fortified liquid. I fill mine to the top with cereal and milk. When I am done, I drink every last drop of the now super sugary, nearly syrupy milk out of my bowl like it is a two handed glass. I debate packing a lunch and sneaking a sixteen ounce glass bottle of soda from the refrigerator, but I am sure this is not going to take all day. Besides, I would have to bring the bottle opener, and my luck mom would need it while I was gone and possibly come looking for it.

I am dressed in my favorite engineer striped Oshkosh B’gosh bib overalls. My ensemble is made complete with my green sleeved jersey with the white body. I love baseball shirts, they are my favorite. My Buster Browns are laced tight and ready for the climb. Last years high top gym shoes are still wet and drying on the back porch from yesterday’s frog catching adventures, or I would have worn those.

I go outside and check around for Frank, my neighbor. He luckily sleeps late, but I just want to make sure he is not outside. He is old enough to be my grandfather and has a habit of tattling on me to my parents. He and his wife Nancy are very nosey neighbors. They think they are doing a service to my parents, but usually they are just being a pain to all three of us Maki kids.

The huge elm sits in the corner of our field. It is quite possibly the largest tree in the neighborhood. This tree is as off limits as the tree of knowledge of good and evil, and I don’t care. I am going up it.

I stare at the elm, and it shakes its head in the wind. I swear it is teasing me, telling me I have an impossible task at hand.

“You are an elm tree”, I shout, clenching and shaking my fist at the thick skinned behemoth at the farthest edge of our lot.

I have to shimmy up about fifteen feet to get to the first branch. I consider taking my shoes off and using my bare feet for traction. I think that may be a bad idea, because eventually I am going to have to come out of the tree and a jump will definitely be involved. It takes all my muscle strength, all eight years of it to get to the first branch. I finally make it. The ground seems an eternity away. I take a rest and survey my back yard. I can see our brown ranch house, and Frank and Nancy DeProfio’s house. I can also see lots of corn stalks. It is near the end of summer so these stalks are nice and high and nearly ready to cut for silage. My cow, Moosta is grazing on grass and lazily roaming around in the field. She is so sweet.

I figure I better get a move on. I climb farther and farther until I am high enough to see over the tops of some of the other trees in the yard. We live on top of a hill and I am actually up high enough now to see past the hill. This is amazing.

“Crack, snap, pop” the branch yells out and the tree shakes its head in defiance.

I hit about five branches before escaping to an adrenaline induced happy place that resembles the womb and tastes of copper pennies. Then there is nothing but the dark.

I awaken in the field. I cannot breath, I cannot get any air into my lungs. I am panicking. I want to run, but I cannot move. I cannot breath a full breath. Even if I could get air, I could not yell, no one will hear me. My mother is on the other corner of the yard, in the house, possibly in the basement ironing clothes.

What did I do? Why could I not listen to my father’s advice about leaving the tree alone? Am I going to die here?

Moosta comes over and puts her wet nose on my face, she snorts her disapproval. She does not even want to look at me. She turns and leaves me there alone. Some friend she has turned out to be. How awful, I am shameful to a cow.

The air is coming in short gasps now and I am starting to feel pain in every part of my seventy pound body. The sun is coming through the branches and I can feel it in warm patches on my tear stained cheeks. The ground is cool because there isn’t any grass over here under the elm. It smells like rich earth over here.

My back hurts and I know it bruised. I think I hit the gate to the back field on my quick descent back to the earth. I am afraid to sit up, I have heard stories about people with broken necks becoming paralyzed for moving when they should not have. I slowly start to wiggle my toes and am pretty sure they are wiggling the same way they wiggled before I started this adventure. I then bend me knees like I am sitting in a chair that fell backwards to the ground. So far so good. I lift each arm independently and they both are working as they should. Now I have to move my head. My heart pounds so hard I can hear it inside of my ears, I can even feel the blood flow. I am terrified that I am going to be paralyzed if I move my head. I turn it from side to side and then repeat all the movements of my extremities to make sure I am not going to be a paraplegic now. I am now ready to try standing. I breath a sigh of relief as I become vertical and realize I can walk.

I give myself a once over. I need to check how dirty I am. I also need to check if anything tore. I don’t want a spanking on top of what just happened. There are no rips in my clothes, and all I can see is little crumbs of bark on my sleeve that are easily brushed away with my hand.

The sugar that fueled my adventure has all but dissipated now, there are no longer any signs of the energy it had provided earlier. The hill seems a little larger than it normally does as I trek back to the house.

I make it into the house. My mother must be done with her ironing because she is watching Days of Our Lives. I don’t know what she gets out of this program. I cannot stand the kissing and screeching antics of the overly made up women. She barely notices me come in, thank God there was not a commercial break going on or she would have said hello. If she said hi, she may have seen the tell tale signs of a poorly executed adventure.

My room is nice and cool, and the strong perfume of the roses that border the house under my window is filling the air. I think I will stick to an adventure written in one of my many books to finish off the day. I have had the maximum action tolerable for one Jethro sized bowl of Quisp.

Order of the Opus Gluei Challenge Day

Over at theOpus Gluei today we are starting a new 2 week challenge. I hope you come and play along.
The theme is everything is coming up roses (or rosettes). I made some ribbon and tin foil roses from an idea over at Pinterest. The brighter red rose is made out of paper.
I used Wordle and Corinthians verses on Love... to made my background. I then used the bride and groom image from AMuse stamp company. I hope you enjoy it... come and play, it'll be fun!

Sew Simple and New Challenge Site!!!

The following card is for a BRAND NEW CHALLENGE over at Craft Fancy (a store just down the street from my house!)
The challenge is to use paint on the creation. I painted a rubber stamp with watercolor crayons then stamped. A really simple way to paint on cards, but effective. Go to their blog and check out some really amazing creations!!! You will not be disappointed!

I used Unity stamps for this card.. and Doodlebug card blanks. The brads are also from Doodlebug. I used Versamark to stamp the spools on the card stock. I love the colored bakers twine... it is so cute and such a great accent.

Birthday Invites and photo editing.

My dad's 80th birthday is September 6th. I am planning a very small party. Here are the invites. I used some blue paper and printed the words from the computer. The embellishments on each card are different, because I used up some camping stickers that I had in my stash.

The theme at the Order of the Opus Gluei this week is fish/down by the sea related. You should check it out and come play along with us!!!

Here is the photo on the card after I retouched it a little with the levels and channels in Photoshop CS5. I also took the other fisherman out by copying and cloning the water to remove him! I don't know who that was even.

Farmer's Market and Card Making... an awesome weekend!

We went to the Farmer's Market yesterday. I grew up with a huge garden and no longer have one... so I really miss fresh veggies. I made this omelet this morning. It has fresh and delish tomatoes, summer squash and mushrooms. So yummy!

Here are a couple of cards I made today. I am playing with my fonts and die-cut machine. I wish I had more fonts, but I think I may start creating stuff with the computer, and then adding in some die-cut shapes.

Teez-her!

I just tried these tank tops called Teez-her!

I am a 16 in pants size with a bit of a "muffin top"... I LOVE them. They come in a variety of styles, but all are slimming!!! The product doesn't slim you at the chest, so you can keep your full top, and slim just your middle. Some of the styles have a rubber strip at the bottom that clings to your underwear so it doesn't roll up as you are moving!

I haven't felt so wonderful in my clothes in a couple years. I was out of town when I bought them, and when I got home, my husband thought I lost 15-20 pounds while I was gone (for 4 days... I wish!!)

I think you should check them out, if you need or want smoothing undergarments.

Happy June 1st. It is hard to believe the year is half over already!!!

We are finally getting some warmer weather here in the NW suburbs of Chicago....

Last week I don't think it got above 60, and it rained most of the week. Here is to a warmer and brighter month than the last.

I am taking summer courses, but only 2 of them. 1 is only 5 weeks so I am hoping to get out and about more. I have neglected my blogger friends all school year... so I hope to find you and catch up soon!

Snarky Card

Here is a Snarky Card. "U Stink".... the skunk is a Martha Stewart flocked image. I am going to make one similar with my Mosquito die and have the sentiment be "You Suck", and my Crocodile die with a sentiment that says "Bite Me". I love sassy cards... they are great to send to big brothers or ex-boyfriends. Tee Hee!!!

Invitation for a Cookout!

I stamped the grill and text image on a plain white card. I drew the smoke cloud around the text stamp. I colored this in with Copic Markers, leaving a raw edge. I used a silver gel pen on the "metal" areas of the grill.

The photo was altered in Photoshop by selecting the card, inversing the selection to select the background only, and then adding a motion blur to diffuse the background and emphasize the card.

It is really gloomy here in the Chicago area and not quite 60*F. I wouldn't mind grilling this weekend though. We have an indoor grill for the winter months, besides our trusty (and well loved) Weber if need be. I hope you are having a most wonderful weekend so far.

The spring semester is over. But now I start a class right away on Monday already! Jeepers! Here is my first card in a while. I played with it a little in photoshop too. The image is a digi stamp called Charlie does Cartwheels. He is so happy that school is over! At least HE gets a break!!!

Hello, are you ready for some changes??? I have first, changed the name of the blog. I will still have the digital stamp store open at shop homemade, but I am taking the emphasis off of that adventure. I am going to focus on my cards yet. And share some tools that may help you with your digital creations. I am also going to be publishing a web site for a class I am taking, so I am going to format my blog to link to the web site, the store and all that jazz.
This is a watermark that I created in Photoshop CS5.
It gets saved as an action, that way, every photo I edit, I can apply the recorded action to it. Voila' easy as pie once the first one is set up. This one is transparent and just makes a shadow. That way the card (or photo) is still visible to the viewer.

Working off the Yellow Stash of Scraps...

In the method of working off scrap paper, here are a small assortment of the yellow cards. I now have 151 cards made to ship to Operation Write Home. I am going to fill the box to get the most bang for my buck... and only ship when I have full boxes. I don't want to pay to ship bubble wrap!!! I have a few images in here from Stamp it Crazy, and some Lisa's Altered Art, and a few Unity stamps and more. I hope you are getting inspired to work off some stash!

Purple Stash...

I have been cleaning my craft/art room. It feels great. I grouped all my scrap paper into piles by color. I have been working off the purple scrap stack. Here are some of the cards I made with my purple stash of scrap paper. The images are from various digi artists in the blog world. The sentiments are computer generated, and coloring is done with Copic Markers.
School starts on Tuesday of next week!!! This month FLEW by! Wow! I hopefully will be blogging some while I am back at school, but who knows. If I am AWOL for a while, it's school that I am attending too. Maybe I can post some of my projects as I go. I will be doing some Photoshop and Photography among my other classes. A Design class and a Web Design class are also part of the mix. Maybe I can share some tips and tricks as I go.

The Steaks are High!

I am going do another version of this Quickutz die cut and color the meat brown instead of red and stamp Well Done on it. Groan, groan, groan... I know. These steaks look good enough to eat! The set is a recipe set from Quickutz, and the silverware comes with the set. The circles are also a QK die and the Sentiment is Stampin' Up! The paper is Basic Grey and some samples I got from a paper supplier.

If you look in the background, there are some peeks at some other Father's Day cards that I made today.

Punny Birthday Cards... Ba rump bump!

I need one of those scissors that makes multiple cuts at a time. I just cut all these little pieces by hand. It looks cool though. I got the idea for this card from a Stampin' Up! Saleabration catalogue. My mower is from A Muse, but the sentiment it SU. The paper and die cut border are from Basic Grey. The sticker letters are from the Paperie.

I started back on Clean Eating on the 1st of the year (was a little off the path during the ~~holidays~~ last six months, also took the dog for an hour walk today. It wasn't a resolution, because we all know those never work! Clean Eating, by the way, isn't super colon cleansing! It is eating foods that aren't processed or refined. It is avoiding artificial colors and flavors and just eating food how God made it, now how man mucked it up. My dad thinks we do some kind of Super Colon Blow cleanse, because of the name of how we eat. He is very influenced by his time on the Earth to feel very opinionated though. I can't wait until my 80th year... it seems like a real good time to yell at the TV and tell everyone how stupid they are.

Mother's Day Cards for Heroes

I am working on some troop cards today for Operation Write Home.

I read on their blog/facebook (not sure which) that the troops were looking for kid cards and miss you cards. I combined these ideas into one and made this assortment of cards.

I got the inspiration from Paper Craft UK July 2009 issue. It had some circle punch headed kids. You just cut some free handed clothes and accessories, and draw some stick arms and legs. I used smaller circle punches for the feet and hands.

A while ago one of my best friends, who is hispanic, told me that no one makes any decorations or ornaments or anything like that for people other that white. I noticed she is right, so I made my cards to try and reflect a more diverse group of kids. Not all those soldiers are white... I am glad she brought this to my very white attention.

I hope these are enjoyed... I know I enjoyed making them, in fact I am going to make some more right now.

Owl Card made in Illustrator

There is a tutorial online to draw a book page with trees and an owl and Old English script. I got inspired to draw my own owl and trees and put a border on. This concept could be recreated with punches though.

I hope you all had a most wonderful Christmas. Maybe you are still enjoying your family or are getting ready to go home today. We are enjoying a nice long visit with my family. Nice and quiet and relaxing.

One Sick Puppy

Here are a couple of similar cards. I made this card using an exclusive to Scrapyland die. This one is called "Build an Animal". I made the dog a little green, because he is "one sick puppy". You can make a huge variety of animals with this die.
The hydrant is a "Totally Stampalicious" digital stamp.
The paper is 7 Gypsies, and Basic Grey.
I typed the sentiments and printed them out the inside says, "Get well soon!!!" But it could say, "I like that!!" Tee hee!
Hope you are all set for Christmas and can just sit back and relax and enjoy the season, for what it is truly all about! I am there, and it feels awesome.

Sometimes Pets Pass Away

Here is an idea for a clean and simple card.

I cut the cloud free hand. Then I added the Kitty from a Provo Craft punch, and inked them both. I attached them to a white card, and drew the halo with Stickles gold.

The inside is a stamped sentiment that reads, "Sharing in your Sorrow".

Here is something I had to work on for school I really had a lot of fun with this. I actually used my Quickutz Revolution to cut the shapes. Then I cut the patterns 3 times and painted each section of the board with a different theory of color. Panel 1 is Monochromatic, 2 is Analogous, and 3 is Triadic. What an enjoyable way to work through color theory, and a good result! The panel sections are 6 x 6 mounted on board, and painted on Bristol.

Here is a logo I made. I started with my dog, Jenna... I live traced a photo of her and the expanded and ungrouped the lines and added some color to the background. I then typed some type and stretched the type and added a shadow. The background is a color to white gradient of a nice sunny yellow.

We went to Lake Michigan yesterday, and I took some photos. The one on the left is as is...

and the one on the right is after I played with the levels.

Some people don't want to touch their photography, but it truly is worth the while.

I like laying them next to each other to show the difference as well. And it helps me from

getting too far off. I could come back and lower the red on the leaf... but I like it!

Clipping Masks... What I am learning in school

Hi everyone! Before I pick a winner for the OWH Birthday Card Challenge I have some news for you all...

I have certainly had lots of fun challenging you to some great card making for the last few months or better...
I have also enjoyed creating some digi stamps and sharing them with you all.

I just haven't got the time right now to be a great host, and comment on everyone's cards, and make GREAT images that truly reflect what I want to create.

I feel rushed lately... I don't know if I told you, but I went back to school!!! It is a great experience, but is taking up a LOT of time!!!

I am going to be taking a break from creating digis and the challenges FOR NOW! I may be back... I will occasionally drop a FREEBIE on you, but no longer will be doing it on a weekly basis. I hope to see you all around, because I still will be making and sharing cards, just not on a challenge level.

Res-Q 52 is Sunshine.

I get mine in a cup... it doesn't matter if it's dark outside, it's sunny in my world if there is a nice strong brew of roasted goodness!

I used some old paper, some old book paper that I found at a rummage sale for 10 cents, the ribbon is Martha Stewart. The cork paper is sticky backed and I LOVE IT! It comes from Quickutz. The letters were stamped with my Circa 12 pt. word roller and the Coffee Cup image is KAH-Wink-E-Dink!

WOW! What a large array of talented card makers out there! I am so stunned by all the great entries and the amount of entries last week!!! I went and looked at every one of them, even though I moved today!!! I am so tired! I have been packing all week and now I will be unpacking. It's a Scrappy Day... Feature of one of our DT members!

Scrappy is another of our design team members. She is an extremely energetic, creative person, and is constantly thinking of things she wants to learn, make or try. She has a very eclectic style, so she is always willing to try something new and see what happens.

Scrappy's friendly demeanor, and her odd ball sense of humor is infectious! She is currently serving on SIX design teams, and posts toher blog everyday - sometimes several times a day! We are totally convinced that she either has a staff (a la Martha Stewart), and/or that she doesn't sleep!

Her enthusiasm for stamping has led her to coordinate crops, arrange luncheons, and even host and organize stamp conventions! She is proud to be an original core member of Splitcoaststampers infamous 'Stamp Ho's' - a tightknit group of diehard stampers! She just LOVESto stamp with other stampers, and has met many 'stamping buddies' online, and made new friends at crops and craft stores!

Scrappy been known to stamp on vacation, on her birthday, even in the car! She stamps nearly EVERYDAY and does it EVERYWHERE! She hates to 'waste time' that could be put to better use. So she has 'travel kits' ready to grab so she can color and create on the go! She admits that she has sold quite a few cards while she colors in waiting rooms, at Starbucks, at the doctors office, and even at her daughter's preschool!

Scrappy finds respite from the mundane and the stressors or daily life in her stamping. She says her happy place is "wherever I can stamp!" We are so glad that she has found her 'Happy Place' with us here at KAH-wink-E-dink!

Here is Scrappy's Red, White, and Blue Challenge card! She used one of the Swimmer's digital images for her card... and some awesome Red, White and Blue paper!

For the Red White and Blue or Flag challenge Diane made a flag card using KAH-Wink-E-Dink's Land that I Love digital stamp from the Primitive collection. I love how easy it was to make this look vintage!

Here is Courtney's Card! I love the shrunken duplicates of the main image. And I love the distressing! She also used Land that I love.

Here is Tink's card. She used Primitive Liberty Doll. I love the layered flowers on this card, and that patriotic paper is so wonderful and fitting for the flag day theme.

Kristen made the card out of Core'dinations red card stock, and layered it with 1/2 inch manilla strips from Basic Grey. The sticker accents are from Design Objectives. The image is Missing You from KWED colored with Copics. The blue paper was embossed with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder.

This is the Bell Peel image from KAH-Wink-E-Dink repeated 3 times with deco edged scissors and perforated to make it look like a stamp. A good wedding, anniversary card. The text is generated on the computer and the 42 and Love were hand stamped with Hero Arts alphabet stamps.

has this GORGEOUS photo to use, or use as inspiration for their card challenge this week.

I added some text in photo shop and printed it on some turquoise, distressed paper. I added it to some lined vanilla paper from BG, and added some ribbon and brads and things. Today's cards are about sympathy, so this is one to have on hand for such an occasion.

The stamp is from Thoughts and Prayers from Stampin' Up! The Hibiscus is a die cut from Boss Kut.

All the envelopes match the cards, and were made with my Kreate A Lope and DCWV Halloween stack.

Focus on Sentiments for CAS-Tastic . G is for Graduate. The sentiment stickers in this and the following cards is from 7 Gypsies... so is the red and cream striped paper. The envelopes are made by me from DCWV Halloween stack, but they did match the Graduation cards quite nicely.

The Grad hat stamp in some of the cards is from A Muse art stamps.

All the cards are 5x7 sage green stock from my stash of paper from when I was still working at a print shop.

The brads are all from Basic Grey.

Diva Coffee Break Designs has this sketch today that I used in most of these cards actually, but this one follows the sketch the closest, so I will use this one for them.

Deciding which card is going to which graduate is going to be the hard part with these cards!
I typed up a really nice poem to go on the inside of the cards and printed it 6 times and trimmed it to fit the inside... and glued it in. Much easier than getting my printer to take on 80# card stock.
I like how the camera caught the shine of the foil stamping on these graduation hats on the paper. I still have to make a kindergarten card for our granddaughter, but I am going to make her card with bright colors and girly! She is all girl... no boy colors allowed. I didn't know colors had a sex, but they do in her world! ;)

And Scrappy has my number with the Grande Day! She used the on the go image from the KWED coffee collection. And 6 little button brads. I LOVE the crinkled ruffed up look that screams make mine a triple shot!

Operation Write Home Blog Hop... Happy Memorial Weekend!!!

To start today's post, I would love to extend a HUGE thank you to ALL of those serving our country right now. I extend my thoughts, prayers and thanks to them, and to the families that are waiting at home for them right now. We are blessed to have you out there serving for our freedoms. I am truly blessed to have a talent for art, and very thankful I had the means to share my cards with those overseas.

The majority of the paper used for my card is Basic Grey and the image KAH-Wink-E-Dink Missing You image. I also used my Swiss Dots embossing folder to give the look of stars. The striped paper is DCWV.

Operation Write home is a WONDERFUL group with a ton of resources for inspiration. You can go there EVERY day and find something new to learn, to try, or a reminder of a possibly forgotten technique. Here is their tutorial link. One of my favorite tutorials, which I tried and loved is the shirt card, below, found on their blog! SO FUN!

I would like to thank the troops and thank you for coming by. Here is one of my digital images that I would LOVE to share with you.

The card is for the Belli Challenge Blog. A sketch, plus FLAT embellishments.
This card is for CAS-tastic: A touch of green. I used Stampin' Up! images on this one and some Basic Basic Ribbon and wove that for interest. The paper is Wisteria from Basic Grey.
This card is for Diva Coffee Break Designs use: Real Red, Whisper White, and Brilliant Blue. I faked it, but I love this card... I love CAS cards lately. The heart is a die cut from Quickutz.
